UK OSV operator Bibby Offshore has chartered a Solstad Offshore vessel under its new name of Rever Offshore.

The company was sold by the Bibby Line group to bondholder York Capital's Fara Holdco last year and combined with two other York companies, Norway's Rever and Cecon Contracting.

The Bibby name will be retired on 16 January.

Rever said: "The company will continue to offer the same high levels of service and commitment to safety; its approach remains agile and responsive. It is very much business as usual with the same dedicated team operating under a fresh identity."

Solstad said Rever had declared a 2019 option to charter its 127-loa CSV Normand Clipper (built 2001) for 120 days in the North Sea.

The deal starts between 15 March and 15 April.

Solstad has also fixed out its 117-loa CSV Normand Jarstein (built 2014) to DeepOcean in March, for the 2019 season.

There are options for 2020 and 2021.
