BW Offshore has a new executive team as of today, following the spin-off of BW Energy as its exploration and production (E&P) subsidiary.
Carl K Arnet and Knut R Saethre, who until now have been BW Offshore's respective chief executive and chief financial officer, have moved over to BW Energy, where they will hold the same positions.
Marco Beenen replaces Arnet as BW Offshore's chief executive.
Beenen was previously chief operations officer of the offshore company and has been succeeded in the position by Kei Ikeda, who was head of projects.
Stale Andreassen has been promoted to chief financial officer from senior vice-president of finance, a position he has held since 2008.
Andreas Sohmen-Pao, chairman of BW Offshore's board, said the company's new executive team "are the ideal candidates to lead BW Offshore into the next phase of growth".
Charter extension
At the same time, BW Offshore's floating production, storage and offloading vessel Abo FPSO has received a contract extension from Nigerian Agip Exploration, a subsidiary of Italy's ENI.
The extension will employ the unit until the final quarter of this year, with options until the fourth quarter of 2020.
The contract was last renewed in December and was due to expire on 30 June.
The FPSO has been working in the Abo field offshore Nigeria since production commenced in 2003.
