Dof has fixed a platform supply vessel (PSV) to Shell UK on a firm two-year timecharter at the strongest rate seen for some time, TradeWinds has learned.
A source with knowledge of the deal said the 4,800-dwt Skandi Gamma (built 2011) was fixed at £10,250 per day.
"In comparison, rates last year were around the £8,000 level," the source told TradeWinds.
Two optional one-year extension periods are attached to the contract at £11,500 daily, according to the source.
The fixture was first reported by brokers on 27 January but details of the rate and options were not made public.
Latest AIS data shows Skandi Gamma has been active between Helgelandsbase on the west coast of Norway and waters of the Norwegian sea during the past four weeks.
Two other PSVs owned by Dof were fixed on one-year timecharters employment via the Southern North Sea (SNS) Pool at the end of January.
"The recovery has started, things are moving in the right direction," Mons Aase, chief executive of Dof, told TradeWinds at the time.
