Dof Subsea has secured a mooring installation contract for a floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit in the North Sea.

The Oslo-listed company will deploy the 107-loa Skandi Skansen (built 2011) in the Atlantic region of the UK continental shelf.

Besides the multi-functional support ship, Dof will mobilise a number of anchor-handlers to support the installation project.

It was not possible to reach chief executive Mons Aase for further comment at the time of writing.

Dof reported an after tax-loss of NOK 714m ($86m) in the fourth quarter, as there have not been serious signs of recovery in the offshore market.

To weather the storm, the company issued a $175m bond maturing in 2022 and used net proceeds to repurchase debt of $94m.
