ConocoPhillips Skandinavia has extended its long-term contracts on three of Dof's multirole support vessels (MRVs).

The energy company has taken the 2,900-dwt Skandi Hugen, 3,205-dwt Skandi Nova and the 3,500-dwt Skandi Maroy (all built 2012) for a firm period of five years, according to a filing on Tuesday.

The charters will commence in the final quarter of 2019 and in the first three months of 2020.

The vessels' contracts each have three three-year optional extension periods attached, the company said.

The three vessels have been on seven-year charters to the Stavanger-based ConocoPhillips subsidiary since their delivery in 2012 and their contracts were re-tendered at the end of the initial period.

"ConocoPhillips issued a tender and as such we won a tender, but new contracts will be in direct continuation from present contracts," Mons Aase, Dof's chief executive, told TradeWinds on Tuesday.

Skandi Hugen's contract will also include inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) and remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services, which will be provided by DOF Subsea Norway for the duration of the charter.

When the contracts were first announced, Dof said the trio would be engaged in performing supply services, standby services, ROV operations and seismic activities in Norway.

ConocoPhillips has rights to 35 production licences in Norway, which gives a share of oil production on 17 different fields on the Norwegian continental shelf.

The contracts' commercial value were not disclosed.
