Electromagnetic Geoservices (EMGS) has received a letter of award for a proprietary data acquisition survey in South East Asia worth more than $20m.
The Oslo-listed company has begun mobilisation of its 2008-built research vessel BOA Thalassa, based on the letter of award.
EMGS expects to commence the survey in the first quarter of 2019, subject to the final contract being awarded.
Latest AIS data shows the vessel was mobilised in October from Singapore to Labuan, off the coast of Sabah in East Malaysia.
AIS signals from 11 February state the vessel was conducting "sea trails" in Brunei Bay.
The client was not disclosed.
