GC Rieber Shipping has boosted its contract backlog through new deals for its joint venture Shearwater GeoServices.
The 7,500-dwt Polar Marquis (built 2000) will undertake an additional 835 square kilometers of 3D seismic survey in the Asia-Pacific region.
This is an extension of an ongoing contract with an unnamed national oil company.
The last contract won by the Polar Marquis was last summer, when it was deployed in the Black Sea.
Shearwater, a 50-50 venture between GC Rieber and Rasmussengrupppen, has also inked two seismic survey deals.
TGS has confirmed optional work that will start early in the second quarter, adding four months of employment to two Shearwater vessels.
