The deal with the Chinese yard comes with options for twomore of the same Ulstein PX121H designs, according to a statement.
The firm 4,000-dwt newbuildings are scheduled fordelivery in the first and second quarters of 2016.
They will be equipped with DP2 systems and can accommodateup to 30 people.
No price was disclosed for the order however Clarksons listsNantong Rainbow as having a pair of 4,200-dwt vessels on order at the same yardfor $28m apiece.
Per Ivar Fagervoll, CEO of the Alesund-based shipowner, said:“In addition to design, ULSTEIN also delivers a significant package includingequipment, supervision, commissioning and testing, which has been instrumentaland a condition for us to enter into this series of vessels.”
Gunvor Ulstein, CEO of Ulstein Group, said: “The PX121design has become very sought-after in a short period of time, and includingthese vessels, a total of 24 vessels for seven different ship-owners have beencontracted.”
Greek shipowner Victor Restis took over the Norwegian offshore outfit, previously called Aries Offshore, in the middle of 2010.
Golden Energy Offshore currently has seven offshore supportvessels in the water, according to its website.
