Nordic American Offshore is looking to change its name.

And not to Scorpio Offshore.

The New York-traded, Scorpio Group-controlled offshore player will ask shareholders at its 4 June annual meeting to approve Hermitage Offshore Services as the company's new moniker, according to Securities and Exchange Commission filings.

The new name comes after Scorpio took a controlling stake in the company via a $5m private placement in December.

The move saw Emanuele Lauro take over as chief executive, a position he holds at Scorpio Tankers and Scorpio Bulkers.

Lauro replaced Herbjorn Hansson, the company's founder who also leads Nordic American Tankers.

The annual meeting will be held in Monaco. The name change requires a majority of votes cast at the meeting.
