One of Nordic American Offshore's directors has stepped down, and his replacement is Scorpio-connected.

According to Securities and Exchange Commission filings made after the close Tuesday, James Kelly, a class B director, will be replaced by Marianne Okland.

Okland has sat on the board at Scorpio Tankers since 2013. She will chair the New York-listed offshore company's audit committee.

Last month, the Scorpio Group took a leading stake in the Herbjorn Hansson-founded company after a $5m private placement as it bled cash with mounting debts.

The deal saw Scorpio founder and chairman Emanuele Lauro take the chairman and chief executive positions at Nordic American Offshore. Meanwhile Robert Bugbee and Cameron Mackey were installed as president and chief operating officer, respectively — the same positions they hold at Scorpio Tankers and Scorpio Bulkers.

Two weeks later, the company prepared a poison pill to ward off unauthorized takeover bids.
