Kleven Werft will build the MT 6021 MKII design at a cost of NOK 450m ($75.6m), with delivery scheduled for June 2015.

The latest vessel design features an 80t-rated offshore crane, ROV hangars and accommodation for 80 personnel.

Kleven is already building a similar vessel, a MT 6021 design IMR vessel, for Olympic with delivery set for March 2015.

Olympic has just secured a charter contract for the vessel with Bibby Offshore for three years with options for an additional three years.

Olympic said the contract “further confirms its market position as one of the leading ship owners in the subsea segment”.

The design by Marin Teknikk AS is new and developed in cooperation with Olympic, with a high focus on efficient and environmental friendly solutions.

This latest order from Olympic takes Kleven’s order backlog to 13 vessels which are worth around NOK 8bn in total.

Kleven is the largest Norwegian-owned shipyard group with Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik and Myklebust Verft in Gursken.
