Owners of platform supply vessels have been enjoying higher rates as units became scarce in the North Sea on Monday.

Broker lists showed that all 25 operational ships in Norway are fixed, while just one of 42 in the UK remains charter free.

Nordic American Offshore's 4,200-dwt NAO Storm (built 2015) was paid £11,000 ($14,400) per day for supply duties by Total, up from £7,000 last week.

A total of 53 other PSVs remain in lay-up.

Six ships were booked between Friday and Monday.

Utilisation stands at 96%, according to broker Westshore.

Turning to anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) units, it added: "Quiet in the AHTS market after a tight period.

"Two AHTS available in Norway without future commitments, while seven are available on UK side. The utilisation is currently 57%."
