Norway’s Remoy Group has boosted its balance sheet by offloading two of its three offshore ships.
The company said it has agreed to sell the 4,400-dwt Rem Hrist and Rem Mist (both built 2011) to an unnamed “major international shipping corporation”.
VesselsValue assesses the units as worth $23m combined.
The sales leave the group with just the 5,900-dwt Rem Eir (built 2014) in the owned fleet. This PSV is worth $25.4m.
The vessels are expected to be delivered to their new owner in August 2022.
Remoy Shipping, the management arm of Remoy Group, will continue to manage the vessels following the transaction.
The company told TradeWinds the name of the buyer is not being released due to confidentiality clauses.
Remoy Shipping has also been awarded management agreements for two more PSVs from the same owner.
The company will now have commercial and technical management of eight large and modern PSVs operating in the North Sea, in addition to one research vessel and a navy ship.
Important milestone
“The sales represent an important milestone in the ongoing refinancing of the Remoy Group and its subsidiaries,” the company said.
The transaction will improve its financial position and allow the owner to pursue growth opportunities.
“The company’s outlook remains strong as demand for offshore supply vessel services has increased significantly [in] the last 12 months following the recent uptick in demand for energy,” the owner added.
Remoy Group was founded in the early 1980s and describes itself as a long-term owner of offshore ships.
