Seabird Exploration has chartered out a veteran ship for seismic survey work in South America.
The Oslo-listed company said the 3,072-dwt Northern Explorer (built 1987) has won a contract for two and a half months starting in the third quarter.
Northern Explorer will support a 2D seismic survey in South America.
Seabird did not reveal the charterer.
This is the second deal for Seabird in a week as it fixed the 3,500-dwt Osprey Explorer (built 1985) for a similar task in north-west Europe.
Cyprus-registered Seabird controls a fleet of seven seismic vessels, specialised in 2D, 3D and 4D seismic data acquisition.
