The Norwegian shipyard will piece together the ST-216 Arcticdesign developed by Skipteknisk at its Sandnes yard by November 2015, it saidtoday in a statement.

No price was placed on the contract for the 92 metre shipwhich is designed for harsh environments and will be ice classed.

GulfMark has taken delivery of two similar 4,700-dwt vessels from Simek recently.

This is Simek’s second newbuilding contract in as many weeksfollowing a deal with Scotland’s Fletcher to construct a pair of PSVs.

The Norwegian yard will pocket a total of NOK 420m ($70.85m)with delivery scheduled for April 2015.

It now has an orderbook consisting of four vessels including a multifunctional support ship for Mokster Shipping.
