Subsea 7’s Subsea Integration Alliance joint venture has inked a deal to work on a UK North Sea oilfield.

The Oslo-listed, Kristian Siem-backed company announced on Monday a contract worth between $50m and $150m to install subsea pipelines and production systems to BP’s Murlach oilfield development, roughly 240km east of Aberdeen.

“This is BP’s third fully integrated [engineering, procurement, construction and installation] project with Subsea Integration Alliance marking an important milestone as we extend our support to the UK North Sea market,” said Subsea Integration Alliance chief executive Olivier Blaringhem.

The Subsea Integration Alliance is a joint venture bringing together the subsea businesses of drilling giant SLB and Kjell Inge Rokke’s Aker Solutions.

On the project, Subsea 7 will install 8km of rigid flowline, two flexible jumpers and other subsea infrastructure. The parts will be fabricated in Vigra, Norway with operations expected to start in 2025.

OneSubsea will deliver two vertical monobore trees, a two-slot manifold and various topside controls.

“We are delighted to be awarded this contract by BP, as it recognises Subsea Integration Alliance's global reputation for seamless, full subsea system delivery,” said Subsea 7 UK senior vice president Hani El Kurd.

“Subsea7 has a long relationship with bp and we look forward to supporting their Murlach development.”

Production is expected to start on the Murlach field in June 2025 and could produce as much a 20m barrels of oil per year.
