Vroon Offshore will shift three ships from the North Sea to the Caribbean following a fresh contract with BP.

The owner linked with BP last year to supply five ERRVs in the North Sea and West of Shetland on a long-term contract.

Now three more ships, the 1,400-dwt VOS Gorgeous and VOS Grace (both built 2015) and the 1,100-dwt VOS Fabulous (built 2015), are to head for Trinidad and Tobago for the same charterer.

Craig Harvie, managing director of Vroon Offshore Services Aberdeen, said: "It’s a real signal of confidence in the effectiveness of North Sea emergency response and rescue services.

“We’re thrilled to have been selected as BP’s preferred partner in Trinidad and Tobago and view it as a platform from which to move into the wider Caribbean and South American markets.”

He said the major contract showed the significant investment undertaken in the Vroon fleet was paying off in cementing its position as a leader in the emergency response and rescue market.
