TradeWinds readers have overwhelmingly chosen John Fredriksen as shipping's most famous face.
The question was posed following an interview given in India by Foresight Group chairman Ravi Mehrotra, who claimed: "Without trying to blow my own trumpet, but I'm the most famous face in shipping in the world today."
The ambitious shipowner may have a case if he's a household name among India's huge population, but he only garnered 9% of the votes cast by readers in our online poll.
Tanker king Fredriksen won 85%, with Fred Olsen on 2% and cruiseship newcomer Richard Branson on 4%.
But other names were also suggested, including Greek owners George Economou, John Angelicoussis, Angeliki Frangou and Evangelos Marinakis.
One shrewd reader suggested Cosco chairman Xu Lirong, on the basis that some of China's 1.4bn people must know who he is.
Amazon boss Jeff Bezos, with one ro-pax to his name but global renown as the world's richest man, was also on the list.
Gianluigi Aponte and Henning Oldendorff had some backing, as did Idan Ofer, Richard Fulford-Smith, Paddy Rodgers, Emanuele Lauro, Andreas Sohmen-Pao and Theodore Veniamis.
Among the more (presumably) tongue-in-cheek answers was US president Donald Trump.
And if the dearly departed are included, one Aristotle Onassis was a logical choice.
Indeed, one reader scorned the whole notion, saying: "Current shipping faces are mediocre. So this question is irrelevant!"
Of course, we can't rule out that some people were voting for themselves.
