Russia's United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) is in further talks over cruiseship orders for its Arctech Helsinki Shipyard.

Interfax reported that the yard is trying to win deals for 75,000-gt vessels at the Finnish plant.

"We have preliminary talks with Japanese customers. A Chinese operating company is also interested," USC president Alexei Rakhmanov said.

The yard has previously said it was negotiating orders, but western sanctions against Russia have complicated financing issues.

Earlier talks had taken place with customers in Japan, Monaco and the Nordic countries.

USC is also negotiating with Croatian tycoon Danko Koncar's Kermas group over the sale of a controlling stake in Arctech. It has 100% currently.
