Dutch shipyard De Hoop has won a new expedition cruiseship order for Royal Caribbean's Celebrity Cruises.

The 100-passenger Celebrity Flora will be delivered in May 2019 for operations in the Galapagos Islands, the yard said.

Celebrity already operates three ships in the islands. Two of these will leave the fleet when the new vessel is delivered.

This is so that the owner can stick to rules regulating the number of tourists that can visit.

De Hoop said the design is specialised for the islands, featuring state of the art and eco-friendly technology.

It will be "the largest and most luxurious" vessel travelling to the unique destination, with eight decks.

No price has been revealed.
