Iraq and Iran have restarted a passenger service between the two countries.
The Iraq government said a domestic operator had carried 46 people to the Iranian port of Khorramshahr.
In a statement cited by The Nation website, Iraqi transport minister Kadhim Finjan said that the country is ready to launch a wider programme of sea transport.
