The path of innovation rarely runs smoothly in any industry.

This was illustrated in a minor way this week by the delaying of a Norwegian electric ferry because its charging plug became jammed in a socket.

NRK reported that the 2,700-gt Gloppefjord (built 2017) experienced a spot of difficulty while recharging its batteries at the port of Lote on 20 March.

The problem was later resolved and the ferry returned to operation that day.

The vessel is operated by Fjord1.
