Malaysia's Kaibouk Shipyard plans to buy more of Vietnamese ferry owner Superdong – Kien Giang Fast Ferry (SKG).

It wants to acquire 700,000 shares. This would raise its holding in SKG to 2.6% or 1.25m shares, from the current 1.14%, the Toan Viet website said.

Hanoi-listed SKG made a net profit of VND 167.98b ($7.4m) on revenue of VND 312.47bn in the first nine months of 2017, up 5.36% and 8.8% year-on-year.

It has a fleet of 11 ferries.
