The Louis Group has sold its 41,700-gt cruiseship Majesty (built 1992).

In an announcement to the Cyprus Stock Exchange today, the company said that it would realize an accounting profit of EUR 700,000 from the sale of the ship.

The company did not disclose the price paid nor the buyer, although there have been very strong suggestions in cruise circles recently that interests associated with Israeli cruise operator Mano Cruises were looking to buy the ship.

Louis purchased the Majesty from Norwegian Cruise Lines in 2009, and since then it has mostly operated on charter to UK-based Thompson Cruises, now rebranded as Marella Cruises.

The ship was handed back to Louis late last year and apart from a brief stint of service in April for Louis’s Greek cruise arm Celestyal Cruises, has been idle in Piraeus awaiting a sale.

Earlier this year Louis sold its oldest cruiseship, the15,800-gt Aegean Queen (built 1967) for recycling.
