Germany's MAN Energy Solutions is experiencing record levels of engine orders for cruiseships.

Sales this year are nearing EUR 100m ($116m), it said.

This involves systems for seven new vessels in the first eight months, as well as scrubbers.

The orders total almost 300 MW of installed power for ships ranging in size from 50,000 gt to 140,000 gt, and running on fuel types from HFO to LNG.

Delivery is scheduled from the end of 2019 to 2022.

Sokrates Tolgos, the company's head of cruise sales and tendering, said: “These orders demonstrate in a nutshell MAN’s capability to provide state-of-the-art, efficient engine technology along with emission-reducing solution packages regardless of the fuel type preferred by the customer.”
