A Danish police manhunt shut down all ferries to the island of Zealand, where Copenhagen is located, on Friday.
The operation was linked to a kidnapping, the Daily Telegraph reported.
Police closed passenger routes to Sweden, Norway and Germany, as well as the Oresund bridge and tunnel.
“It is very unusual that we choose to do this, but the three persons are suspected of a serious crime,” Riad Tolba, Copenhagen police spokesman, told the Daily Telegraph.
The island was cut off for two and a half hours.
A rental car had been stolen in Sweden as part of a suspected abduction.
