Tallink Group has extended the charter agreement of one superfast vessel with its Canadian counterpart.
The Estonian ferry owner reached an agreement with Marine Atlantic to stretch the current deal for the 32,728-gt Atlantic Vision (built 2002) until November 2018.
This means the vessel will stay with Tallink for at least 10 years, as the initial bareboat charter was signed on 14 November 2008.
Marine Atlantic is a Canadian company in which the state has a stake.
It owns four ferries deployed between Newfoundland, Labrador and Nova Scotia.
Tallink enjoyed a profitable second quarter with higher net income and more passengers.
