TUI's Thomson Cruises is changing its name to Marella Cruises to reflect changes in the wider group.

Thomson, a UK division of the German parent, will become TUI later this month.

The rebrand will see the UK’s third largest cruise line relaunch its modernised fleet, with Marella Explorer joining the company.

The ship is currently sailing as the 1,924-berth Mein Schiff 1 (built 1996). The 1,912-berth Mein Schiff 2 (built 1997) will join the fleet in 2019.

Cruise is a core part of TUI's growth and investment strategy, the group said. It has 16 vessels in total.
