Viking Line has put the finishing touches to a newbuilding order at Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry in China.
Viking, which inked a letter of intent for the vessel last November, today firmed up the EUR 194m ($207m) project.
The 63,000-gt ship will hit the water in 2020 and run between Turku in Finland and Stockholm Sweden via the Aland Islands.
Viking promised a brand new passenger experience after hiring Scandinavian architects to handle the interior design.
Jan Hanses, chief executive of Viking, could not immediately be reached for comment on the deal today.
As TradeWinds has reported previously, the owner turned to an international yard as domestic passengership specialist Meyer Turku only had delivery dates available after 2021/2022.
