Roynesdal has extensive experience in shipping and maritime transport.

He was previously chief operating officer at Kistefos’ Norgas Carriers, according to a statement.

“We are now entering a phase where we need to find long-term and sustainable financing for our company,” chief executive Bent Martini said.

“Aleksander will naturally play an important role in this, and, with his broad experience and expertise, we are confident that we will find good solutions for Havila Voyages that will strengthen us financially.”

Roynesdal, 44, has also worked with finance at IM Skaugen in Norway and Singapore.

Former CFO of Havila Kystruten Arne Johan Dale will continue as CFO of the parent Havila Group.

Havila Kystruten has also hired Mette Oyen as chief marketing officer.

She joins from the position of director of marketing and branding at the Norwegian airline Wideroe.

“We are still a fairly new company and need to strengthen our market position if we are to achieve our ambitious goals. We are confident that Mette will be a great asset to us,” Martini said.

Oyen will start in her new role on 1 September.
