The crew of the MT Mustard was arrested after it sailed intothe country’s waters, Ghanaian officials said on Thursday according to Reuters.
Authorities are carrying out further investigations into theship's activities.
The 37,800-dwt Cotton (built 2007) was hijacked on 14July less than 20 nautical miles north of Port Gentil while waiting to load a cargoof fuel oil.
It was sprung a week later with all 24 Indian seafarers onboard.
As TradeWinds reported, the attack on the Malta-flaggedvessel took place some 200 nautical miles from any other recorded incident inthe past five years leading to fears over the spread of piracy in West Africa.
