A Dutch tanker has run aground in the St Lawrence Seaway in Canada.
The 17,100-dwt Chem Norma (built 2009) got stuck outside the village of Morrisburg, Ontario, early on Tuesday morning, CBC reported.
An inspector boarded the vessel later that day to assess it, according to the St Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation (SLSMC).
No water ingress or pollution was reported.
"It's currently resting against the side of the navigation channel as it awaits inspection, and we expect that it will be underway in the near future," an SLSMC spokesman said.
"From my understanding it was a steering issue, and that is what brought the vessel to rest against the side of the channel."
Navigation is still possible, but other vessels are running at reduced speeds near the grounded ship, the spokesman added.
AIS data showed it still aground on Wednesday. But TradeWinds has been told the vessel is expected to be refloated by midday on Wednesday.
