An Awilco LNG vessel is heading to a repair yard after being damaged in a collision in Singapore.
The Norwegian owner said the 156,600-cbm WilForce (built 2013) was "struck by another vessel" on 30 May.
TradeWinds understands the ship was in collision with a newbuilding, Nisshin Shipping's 39,300-dwt open-hatch bulker Western Moscow.
No crew injuries or spills have been reported from the LNG carrier.
The vessel was in ballast at the time and inbound to pick up a cargo.
WilForce, which had only recently left a repair yard, will undergo hull repairs and a class inspection at a Singapore shipyard.
The company said: "It is currently unclear how long the vessel will be off-hire. The vessel has full insurance cover for repair expenses and loss of hire, subject to a deductible."
Based on a preliminary assessment of facts, Awilco LNG holds the other vessel "fully and completely liable" for the collision, it added.
It expects to recover all costs, losses and expenses including deductibles in due course.
WilForce is one of Awilco's only two ships.
