A bulker that ran aground in Oregon over the weekend was refloated Monday morning without any injuries or pollution, the US Coast Guard reported.

The 76,500-dwt Gorgoypikoos (built 2005) ran aground on the Miller Sands Bar near Tongue Point Sunday, approximately 13 miles east of the mouth of the Columbia River, the agency said.

The Coast Guard said the grounding was due to a "steering control malfunction."

The ship was laden with grain and, according to automatic identification system data, is destined for Japan. It is currently moored in Longview, Washington.

The Coast Guard dispatched three tugs to help right the Gorgoypikoos, owned by Greek outfit Anbros Maritime, but the ship was lifted off the sandbar by the morning's high tide.
