One seafarer is reported to have died and 15 others were taken to hospital after an explosion and fire hit an LPG carrier in Turkey.
The blast happened in Petkim Port in Aliaga on a vessel named as Synergas' 4,007-cbm Syn Zania (built 2008) on Monday night, Menemen Haber reported.
Kaptan News Agency said one of the other seafarers was seriously injured.
Video footage showed flames rising high into the night sky.
Some crew were seen jumping into the sea.
Aliaga district governor Erhan Gunay had earlier said 15 Italians and a Romanian were hospitalised.
An eyewitness was cited as saying: "Explosion and fire occurred at 23.14 hours. Seven to eight people who jumped into the sea at 23.17 were rescued and tugboats began to intervene in the fire."
The blaze was said to be under control later that night.
Synergas has been contacted for more information.
