A Canadian crewman has died after falling from a dock while tying off a CSL bulker.
WWNY TV cited police as saying that Alfred Eshun, 57, from Quebec, lost his balance at Eisenhower Locks on the St Lawrence on Tuesday morning.
Eshun worked on the 36,000-dwt Spruceglen (built 1983).
He was found in the water face-down and unresponsive three minutes later.
Two St. Lawrence Seaway workers jumped in to help and were later treated for possible hypothermia.
The US Coast Guard is helping with the investigation.
