A damaged Yang Ming boxship that lost 83 containers in a storm has docked in Sydney.
The Taiwanese owner said the 4,250-teu YM Efficiency (built 2009) berthed at the DP World terminal on Wednesday.
It was hit by heavy swells en route from Kaohsiung to Sydney earlier this week. A total of 26 containers were damaged on deck, as well as deck fittings.
Regular operations will now take place, together with further assessment and repair for the damaged containers, and necessary inspections.
It has been confirmed that there were no dangerous goods or marine contaminants inside the 83 lost boxes.
Container salvage and debris clean-up operations started on 2 June.
The search area by helicopters is from Newcastle as far south as Broken Bay.
"Meanwhile, our business force has instructed loading port offices to keep close contact with all customers with direct impact for further arrangement and inform them any update on the incident," Yang Ming added.
ABC had reported that nappies, sanitary products and surgical masks were among the rubbish floating in the water off Port Stephens.
Yang Ming has confirmed the vessel had 3,077 teu on board.
The vessel has cover from Britannia P&I club.
