A 1952-built tanker has been refloated after being forced ashore in a storm off Cyprus last week.

The 200-dwt Salim N1 (built 1952) grounded on a beach after being anchored off Famagusta since 2 December.

The vessel was pulled free and taken to anchorage after four days aground, Deniz Haber reported.

The operation by the TRNC ports department lasted 45 minutes.

The tanker is listed as controlled by Med Petrol of Panama.
