A Belgian OSV has helped find the wreckage of the plane carrying footballer Emiliano Sala in the English Channel.

The newly signed Cardiff City striker and pilot David Ibbotson died on the Piper Malibu aircraft last month en route to Wales from France.

The 3,330-dwt Geo Ocean III (built 2004), owned by GEOxyz, was moved into position over the wreckage site after the plane was found by a privately funded search using another ship called Morven.

Geo Ocean III's ROV was used to provide a positive identification.
