A Greek owned bulk carrier has crashed into a mansion on the shores of the Bosphorus.

Video footage shows the 74,200-dwt Vitaspirit (built 2001) smashing into the building while tourists watched from small vessels with camera phones in hand.

The ship is listed in the fleet of Vita Management of Greece, with the incident reported to have closed the waterway in both directions.

Reuters said the ship’s steering had failed and, despite the dramatic footage, there are no reports of any injuries to the crew or those in the building.

The bulker hit the Hekimbasi Salih Efendi Mansion, an 18th century wedding venue and restaurant, located under the Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridge.

The Vitaspirit is one of seven bulkers listed in the fleet of the Piraeus-based company. &lt;/p&gt;</p></field><field name="alternativebylines"><value><field name="alternativebylinevalue">Andy Pierce</field><field name="alternativebylineemail">andy.pierce@tradewindsnews.com</field><field name="alternativebylineuserid">1195</field></value></field><field name="featureindicator"><value>normal</value></field><field name="paywallcontentsize"><value>small</value></field></content></escenic>
