A Greek ferry has hit the quay of Kasos port in the southern Aegean Sea for the second time since last year.
The 6,387-gt Vitsentzos Kornaros (built 1976) suffered minor damage after the incident, which occurred yesterday with 289 passengers and 63 crew onboard.
Following the collision, the captain continued the journey without the consent of the local coast guard, the Hellenic Coast Guard (HCG) said.
He was arrested later and he was released after a lawsuit was filed against him.
The same vessel had hit the quay at the same port in March 2015.
On both occasions, the captain blamed severe weather conditions.
Locals have expressed their concerns over the inability of the port to accommodate big passenger ships.
The Vitsentzos Kornaros is one of two vessels listed in the fleet of Piraeus-based Lasithiotiki AE (Lane Lines).
