No pollution has been reported from a cargoship that ran aground off Sweden.

The Swedish Coast Guard said that as a precaution, one of its fuel tanks was due to be emptied last night outside Landskrona.

AIS data shows the grounded ship is the 3,000-dwt Rix Emerald (built 1995).

A coast guard diver has found no hull damage.

The plan is to refloat the ship on Wednesday.

The coast guard has vessels and environmental protection equipment in place.

A preliminary police investigation has been closed without a cause emerging.

The vessel is managed by Rix Shipmanagement of Latvia, which has been contacted for comment.
