A Hoegh Autoliners PCTC was briefly detained in the UK last month after failing a port state control (PSC) inspection.
Inspectors found 12 deficiencies aboard the 6,500-ceu Hoegh Transporter (built 1999) during an inspection in the port of Tyne on 2 November.
These included an ISM infringement which prompted the detention of the Norwegian-flagged vessel. The ship was released four days later.
The Hoegh Transporter was among six new detentions of foreign flagged vessels in a UK port during November.
A total of four vessels remained under detention at the end of the month, according to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).
Among the other ships detained during November were Evalend Shipping's 19,000-dwt handy bulker Aviator (built 2007), MT Maritime Management's 34,500-dwt chemical tanker MTM Hong Kong (built 2000) and GS Maritime's 26,600-dwt bulker Argyroula (built 1997).
