A new film has shown how US accident investigators tackled the probe into the fatal sinking of the El Faro in 2015.
The 15-minute video has been released by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
It aims to summarise the investigation into the tragedy that killed all 33 crew in a hurricane.
The film examines NTSB’s determination of the cause of the accident and discusses associated recommendations to improve marine safety.
The video also highlights the three missions undertaken to retrieve the voyage data recorder and document the wreckage at a depth of 15,000 feet beneath the ocean surface.
