Outgoing International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) secretary general Peter Hinchliffe said a final farewell to industry colleagues during a goodbye party at a packed Somerset House in London.
Former submarine officer Hinchliffe, who led the ICS for more than six years and is being replaced by Guy Platten, is now heading off to enjoy retirement.
There to say goodbye were Kitack Lim, IMO secretary general, and ICS chairman Esben Poulsson, who flew in from Singapore to thank Hinchliffe for his contribution to the industry.
Hinchliffe said he will spend his retirement taking part in his favourite past-time of trekking, a hobby he shares with wife Sue.
