Scotland’s Loch Ness might be famous for the chance to catch a glimpse of “Nessie”, but this year another monster challenge has got people talking.
Hordes flock to the Highlands each year in the hope of spotting the mythical beast, but this September the loch will form the centrepiece of The Sailors’ Society’s 60-mile (96-kilometre) canoe fundraising expedition along the Great Glen Canoe Trail between Fort William and Inverness.
Up to 40 people, in teams of two, are set to take on the four-day adventure — one of a series of fundraisers celebrating the maritime welfare charity’s 200th anniversary — and TradeWinds will be there every paddle stroke of the way.
The event offers the chance for participants to get back to nature and The Sailors’ Society will give 50% off the registration fee to anyone who signs up through TradeWinds — using the discount code “TRADE”.
