The British were victorious once more over their bitter rivals the Norwegians at this year’s Anglo-Norwegian shipping golf match.
The two sides have been fiercely battling it out on the fairways for the historic shipping trophy since the post-war years, with Norway edging it in terms of total victories.
However, under the captaincy of former Intercargo secretary general Roger Holt, the Brits have rallied over recent years and took the cup once again in a 5-3 victory at Norway's Atlungstad Golf Club.
Turning out for the Norwegians, led by former lawyer Lars Musaeus, were some enthusiastic shipping golfers including owners Westye Hoegh, Bryn Skaugen and Ole Jacob Figenbaum, finance men Peter Knudsen and Anders Ingebrigtsen, and brokers Morten Andvig and Tom Hargreaves.
The British team featured former Clarksons head of dry broking Jeremy Poyntz, shipowner Michael Everard, former Baltic chief executive Jeremy Penn, London Offshore Consultants director Andrew Pointing and Intermanager’s Paddy McKnight.
Hostilities will resume when the two teams meet again in the UK next June.
