The US Coast Guard evacuated two crew members from a Norwegian Cruise Line ship late Monday afternoon after they suffered second-degree burns.

The crew members, two Filipino men aged 25 and 26, sustained their injuries in the engineroom of the 164,600-grt Norwegian Escape (built 2015) as it sailed roughly 25 miles off the coast of North Carolina.

The Coast Guard did not have details on how the men were injured.

The men were flown via helicopter to Rocky Mount-Wilson Regional Airport in Nash County, North Carolina, where they were met by emergency medical services.
