Four of the seven crew of the Togo-flagged Ag Marina (built1964) were picked up by a passing bulker but the remaining seafarers, includingthe master, are still missing.

The vessel was sailing to Odessa from Montenegro when it wentdown early on Thursday 30 nautical miles off the west of the Greek island, thecoast guard said in a statement on its website.

It is not known what caused the incident but the vesselbegan to take on water, according to the Russian crew.

No pollution has been observed around the site though alarge number of boxes of cigarettes have been spotted.

The ship was loaded with six trucks at the time.
