A Hinode Shipping tanker has been smashed into a bridge by the force of Typhoon Jebi in Japan.
The 3,900-dwt Houn Maru (built 1996) damaged the Kansai Airport Bridge after dragging anchor in Osaka on Tuesday afternoon, the Kyodo news agency reported.
The span is the only land link to the island airport.
No injuries were reported among the tanker's 11 crew, the coast guard said.
The airport closed later in the afternoon due to flooding.
Dozens of salvage barges were also swept away at Kobe-Osaka port after mooring ropes snapped.
